14 Oct Bleeding Pom Poms. The 67 team MHS High School Championship Team!
It was a pouring down freezing rain day in December when the Marietta Blue Devils played in their second state championship game. They battled fierce weather and came together as a team despite integrating with the Lemon Street school that very year.
Hear from the players and one cheerleader that were there and what it was like to win one for Marietta High School.
Episode includes:
Bill Kelly, Bob and Jim Cagel, Mike Welsh, Ken Delk , Freddie Summerour , David White, Vickie Young, (cheerleader), Ralph Hudgins, Lory Hill and Mickey Brown!

Posted at 09:55h, 15 OctoberFantastic job, Bill, on all of the interviews regarding one of the greatest events in Marietta High’s 125 year old history! I really enjoyed listening to ten of our 1967 Blue Devil Champions as they gave us their account of that rainy night in Georgia one more time! It never gets old:) Also great to hear a little bit about the other aspect of their lives.
Also, it was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to share with you and your listeners what my four years as a Marietta High School Cheerleader meant to me. I tried my
best to convey, too, what it meant to ALL of the girls that I cheered with during my time at MHS! Of course, I particularly enjoyed reminiscing about the greatest night of them all when our guys won the State Championship!!!
