The community comes out to celebrate retiring mail carrier, Mr Floyd Martin

It seemed like everyone made it to Taylor Park to celebrate an exceptional mail carrier, Floyd Martin. He retired on Thursday after 35 years and has touched many lives in a special way.

This is a story of community, love and the impact of one person’s life on so many.

    Hi, Bill,

George Lamplugh here, from St. James’ Church. I’ve had your “Marietta Stories” podcast bookmarked and followed it with some regularity. I just wanted to congratulate you on your latest, about the community celebration of retiring postman Floyd Martin. Faith and I had both read a story about Mr. Martin in yesterday’s AJC and were interested to learn that the neighborhood’s regard for him and their celebration of him and his accomplishments upon the occasion of his retirement had gone viral. I’m sure that your podcast must have had something to do with the phenomenon, so congratulations!
